Club Minutes

Hey Planeteers!

Environmental club picked up this week after our exhausting 350 festival, which was a big success. John Cummins is amazing, and helped us all out so much with the food (and smoothie) end of the festival, so if you see him, remember to thank him! He also had a cake made for our first night in the caf. I'm attaching pictures because the cake was AMAZING and huge. And on that note, unfortunately Sherry will be leaving us soon, so we need a new dining services intern-liason.... any takers? You get to work with John Cummins, and (so I've heard) you get lots of free meals! Also, we only sold about 50 t-shirts over the festival, so if you don't have one yet, please buy one.. they look so great, and you can even put it on your BUID!

Concert: Last summer, Molly worked at an organization called "re-verb," which works with musicians. We want to do something similair for the Guster COncert, and have a table outside before the show with our bike blender and to sell tee-shirts. We need to look into this more, but if anyone is willing to help out with that, I'm sure Molly would love your help!

Photo Petition: Next week, if Ashley and I can figure everything out, we will be addressing, stamping and stuffing letters to senators from the photo petition for the 350 climate festival. Thanks for volunteering to help me out, Brad... I may be in contact with you soon.

Green Fund/ Light Petition: No real news yet. Molly, Melissa and I will be meeting with Dave Meyers to discuss the green fund further, and hopefully get some concrete figures out there, sometime within the next two weeks. We've gotten tons of signatures for the light petition, (Thanks to all of you who manned the tables and bugged people to sign!) and hopefully we will be able to get president Mitchell to re-evaluate the superfluous lights on campus.

Does anyone want to live in the environmental co-op? It's soo cool, and there's a great dynamic of people who live there. If you are interested, talk to Barb or Ali!

Sping Plans?  Laundry Teaching: Perhaps we should put signs up that say to only wash your clothes on the "bright cycle" in cold water?

Earth Day Festival, Tree at seventh St. video, (Thanks, Molly) fundraiser for recyclable to-go containers, Lewsiburg High school environmental club joined meeting?... do you have any other ideas???

Dreamcatcher Farm: WHERE'S DAN??????? Does anyone want to be in charge of working with Dreamcatcher Farm? It's basically a farm that works to improve producer-consumer relations. A sweet elderly couple run the farm.

Lastly, COME TO OUR MEETINGS! WE ARE FUN PEOPLE WHO WANT TO GET TO KNOW ALL OF YOU!!!

In other news, last year Barb was a penguin for halloween. She wiped out on Lambda's floor and couldn't get up because of the size of her costume. If you are ever sad, please just imagine a Barb-penguin flapping her polyester wings on the floor of Lambda. Also, Molly may be a lamppost this year.

Peace out, enviro club.
